CostGuard is built on infrastructure used by millions of businesses worldwide. Here's exactly what that means for your data — no marketing fluff.
Every CostGuard account is completely isolated. Your recipes, ingredient costs, sales figures, and margin data are only accessible to you when you're logged in.
Other CostGuard users — including other businesses on the platform — cannot see your data. This is enforced at the database level through Firestore security rules, not just by policy. Even if someone knew your account existed, they could not read a single record.
All data travelling between your device and CostGuard is encrypted using HTTPS — the same standard used by banks and payment processors. Firebase enforces this with no exceptions.
Your data stored in Google's database is encrypted at rest in Google's secure data centres. Google maintains SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and other enterprise security certifications on this infrastructure.
If you import sales data from Square, you export a CSV file from Square yourself and upload it to CostGuard. We never ask for your Square login. We never access your Square account, your payout settings, your banking information, or your Square Capital loans.
You control exactly what you share. If you export a sales report and upload it, we see that sales report — nothing else.
CostGuard makes money from subscriptions. That's it. Your ingredient costs, recipes, margins, and sales figures are competitively sensitive — we treat them that way.
We do not sell, share, or license your data to advertisers, data brokers, aggregators, or any third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models for sale to others. We do not run ads in CostGuard.
CostGuard Software Inc. is incorporated in Saskatchewan, Canada. We operate under Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA) and take our obligations seriously.
We are not a foreign company trying to sell into Canada. We're an operator-led business built in Regina by someone who runs a food truck. Your data is not sold to foreign data brokers or used for advertising profiling.
